About Me
A little about me
I have been working in counselling and supervision for nearly 30 years, supporting adults, young people, and families through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I am a Senior Registered Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in line with their Ethical Framework. I am also a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, as well as professional organisations supporting trauma and child psychotherapy.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a clinical supervisor and continue to support both individuals and organisations.
My approach to you
I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to navigate.
You may not always feel you have choices — or know what those choices are.
My role is to support you in exploring this, at your own pace, in a way that feels safe and manageable.
I aim to offer:
Clarity where things feel uncertain
Support when things feel overwhelming
Space to explore options to change when you feel ready
Optimise life satisfaction

How I work
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and tailored to each individual.

Trauma-informed talking therapy
Somatic (body-based) approaches
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
My training includes advanced work in trauma, including affect dysregulation, survival responses, and traumatic memory through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
My Master’s research focused on somatic awareness, particularly how reconnecting with the body can help people move forward when they feel stuck.
Additional areas of experience
I have extensive experience working with:
Generalised anxiety and panic disorders/ attacks
Anxiety, depression, and relational difficulties
Abuse - childhood adversities
Bereavement and loss
Drug and alcohol addiction issues
Overall Women’s issues
I also facilitate bereavement programmes and psycho-educational courses for both adults and children.

General therapy practice

Working flexibly
Where appropriate, I offer sessions in different settings, including:
Private practice
Online sessions
Home visits (for those who are housebound or need additional support)
Professional standards
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am committed to working safely with children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
My work is supported by ongoing supervision and continued professional development, ensuring I offer a safe, ethical, and effective service.
A final thought
I believe that each person carries both vulnerability and strength.
With the right support, those vulnerabilities can begin to feel more manageable — and over time, can become part of a deeper sense of resilience, confidence, and hope.
“Aiming for clarity, hope, and a more content future.”
